SMF Gallery Lite / Order and notification in picture comments
« on: December 08, 2007, 12:28:22 pm »
hello there.

2 things , a question and a request :
i noticed that under each picture in the gallery where comments appear , last post comes first (order of comments display is new to old). is there a way to reverse that so that it shows first comment first (order old to new) ?

i know there is no notification for new comment in puictures of the gallery (either the ones posted by a member or even all the pictures in the gallery). could it be that when a new comment is made the member that posted the picture gets a new pm notifying him/her that a new comment has been posted in one of his pictures ?

thnx in advance !

no luck getting help here , huh ? no obligation if it is lite ...

well , anyway , thnx to help given over to smf forum i found the solution , and i thought i should post it for anyone else might having the same one !

find in index.template.php the line where it says

Code: [Select]
global $context, $settings, $options, $scripturl, $txt, $modSettings;
and make it

Code: [Select]
global $context, $settings, $options, $scripturl, $txt, $modSettings, $ID_MEMBER;
then you can use $ID_MEMBER in any link without problems !

as you can see here

Code: [Select]
menu1[1]=\'<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=gallery;sa=myimages;u=' . $_GET['u'] . '">My Pictures</a>\'
in my attempt to find a solution i used several alternatives (here i used ' . $_GET['u'] . ') but no luck !

i hope the solution is more clear to you !

SMF Gallery Lite / Link for "My Pictures"
« on: October 28, 2007, 06:02:27 pm »
hello there,

i recently put a drop down menu to my forum and i tried to put there a link for "My Pictures" of the forum's gallery , so that every member could see his/her own pics with a click ! i looked in Gallery.template.php and found that the link was

Code: [Select]
<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=gallery;sa=myimages;u=' . $ID_MEMBER . '">' . $txt['gallery_text_myimages'] . '</a>
so i put that in my menu but it didn't work ! instead i get the message "no user has been chosen" ! i used several similar links such as

Code: [Select]
<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=gallery;sa=myimages;u=' . $row['ID_MEMBER'] . '">' . $txt['gallery_text_myimages'] . '</a>but none worked either ! anyone knows what is the right link ?

thnx in advance !

why don't you use the parser , it will show you exactly what to do instead of using the package installer of smf , just follow the steps ...

SMF Gallery Lite / max width for uploaded photos
« on: October 08, 2007, 01:31:42 pm »
hi there ,

is there a way to make the photos of the gallery resize when showing so that they have a maximum width and they don't mess up the layout ? i let my members upload pics up to 2000p and i know that the easy way is to change that limit to 400-500p but i think it would be better if there was a way for the script to resize them and perchaps make them clickable so that they open in a a new window in full width !

thnx a lot !
