That's cool!

Will give it a try tomorrow.

Thanks for the info.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

However, looking at the mod it says "Smush.it uses optimization techniques specific to each image format".  But we don't know what the format is anymore, do we?

I'd have to find their original format and then copy them somewhere else and add that file type, then rename them to their encoded names again. I assume the original filename will be in the db?

I suppose I could write some php to do that.  Would it break anything in the gallery pro mod?  Is it expecting (or has saved) size, resolution, colour depth or anything like that?

Thanks for your help on this - appreciated.

Rob

Hi,

Me again.

So does this mean it'll be impossible to resize/compress/convert those image files now?

All the software I've seen expects a file extension of .jpg, .png. .bmp etc. etc.

Thanks,

Rob.

Ah!

Might have saved some time if you'd led with that.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi,

So the original .jpg, .png etc. files will be in those directories?

Thanks for everyone’s patience on this but I can’t find them anywhere.

I’ve ftp’d the whole directory structure to my local machine and searched for the filename of a file I know I’ve upliaded cia a post and I can’t find it anywhere.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Both in posts and directly to the gallery.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi,

Thnaks for the responses.

I looked in 'gallery'.  None of the uploaded files there:
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

I then looked in 'attachments' and found files with similar sizes that were the original files but the filenames had been changed:

Hope the images load.

So can I assume that the original file names are changed? [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched and can't find where the original files uploaded by the user are stored.

I also don't seem to get an email when an image needs to be approved by a moderator i.e. me.
I get notifications for password reset.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi,

Just a point of clarification:

You said "But check the attachments path should be of the form like your site
/var/www/vhosts/????????????.co.uk/???????????.online/forum/attachments/" <---attachments

But the original path was:

"/var/www/vhosts/??????????.co.uk/?????????.online/forum/gallery/"  <---- gallery

So wahich one should it be, please?

Thanks, Rob

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I can post to the forum without an attachment.

The path just shows going to the 'gallery' dir.  There are other dirs below this one.  Should uploaded files be placed in 'images' or 'fupload' or somewhere else?

Error log just says 'Cannot access attachments upload path!'  What IS the attachments upload path supposed to be?

Have temporarily set 'gallery' and all sub-dirs to 777.

Thanks for all the support so far.

Is that exact error message? Or is there more details  See attached image of the error dialog.

Does the path look similar to the ones under Server Settings other than the gallery.
Yes - I used the same format as the one for cache but obviously changed it to gallery.

Hi,

Tried searching for this but couldn't find anything.

Anyway, SMFGallery Pro installed perfectly and I:

- changed permission so that guests can't post
- changed permissions such that all images need moderator approval
- created two new categories in Gallery
- changed permissions in the 'gallery' folder to 777
- file size to be uplaed is 84k and is .jpg

Anyone any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks, Rob
