I KNOW! we are working with a Download program with Download Pro ;)

And at my site I have around 2,000 + files up for the members to DL BUT! the members are the ones that make the files to put in the Download Areas I have setup for the community to download.

My site is a Computer Golf Site where the members have the Game and it has a Golf Course Designer with it where they can design a full golf course and then we put it up for the rest of the members to download and play their new design on their system.
And they can and do run a few tours through my site and play up to 4 members at a time just like REAL Golf is done.

For the past 6 years I have had a small ftp program they download from the site and setup on their system and attempt to upload their new designs with it.
It is getting outdated as it is a old about 10-12 years old file to do this.

What I am wondering is how, if it can be done, to setup an area through the DLPro that they can log to through the program that can be set for them to use for uploading their New Course File to me where I can then set it up in the catagory and area for the community to have access to for downloading.

I am working with SMF 2.0.4 and the latest Download Pro.
Hopeing that this is just something that I have not found how to set up yet!     ::)

As a note on the above as you see the only columns I have turned on are the Title, Downloads, File Size, and Comments.

As I don't feel for my site the members need more information than that, and most likely with the addition of a Name / Designer Column I would turn off the Comments Column as you see it is not used anyway. At least on these 3 files I have listed, but in some areas the comments  are used on some files.   ;)

I may be missing it but if so I can't find it in the settings area the option to turn on a column that has the NAME of who made the file.

Maybe it is not there and maybe it can be added, or someone can explain how I can add this to my Downloads Pro.

Below is an attachment that shows what I am thinking or would like to have in the Files Listing of a Category.

Basically as you see I have the File Name and the Designer in the Title column, and would like to have a separate column for the Name or Designer in my case.
As we are listing Golf Courses designed and uploaded for other members to download and play in their installed golf Game on their system.

Any thought or ideas on if I am missing something to turn on to make this happen with the Downloads Pro As Is or what changes I may be able to do to make this change.

OR! is this something that may be able to be added in a update of the Download Pro in the next version released?

Thanks in advance for any INPUT!   ;)

Yes I understand the adding a new column to the template, and I was thinking along the lines as being done by the File area and Child areas as I have shown, where it is something that you can setup in the admin screen by setting a link to the graphic files you want to show on the left in the new column.

BUT! I also understand that would be a lot of extra code to add to the system and get that to work, and would most likely be something to add in a later update of the program rather than try to jerry rig the code and have to redo it every time an update is added to the download system.

As you my have guessed I am not a programmer and working with the code is very new to me so any changes like this I would leave upto you and your team if you felt it was worth adding to a update later on . . . .   ;)

1st. off I am under SMF 2.0.1 and have TP as well along with my Downloads Pro.

Here is a link to my downloads:   http://www.goldenbearsden.com/index.php?action=downloads

If you use the link above you will see that I have added my own custom icons to the Download Categories and also to the Subcategories as well, of what looks like folders like what you see below.

I would like to add some small icons to the file lists as well along side each individual file listed with the text and zip and pdf icons as the second icon you see below.

Is there a way to do this?

As when I go to the edit of a file it's self, I don't see the boxes at the bottom to add an icon like in the edit area of a Categorie or Subcategorie.

So can we add an icon to each file listed inside the categories or subcategories, I got a feeling this is easy and I am just not seeing it.   So let me know if you can help me to get this working . . . . .    ;)

Hello Again just wanted to pop back in and let you know that it has been about a week now that you gave me the answer for making my many files areas in my downloads show like I wanted them as mentioned above in my original post.

And with your help here I have been working on reconstructing my files areas and the community at Golden Bears Den has let me know that they like the new listings and that it makes finding and looking through the course files much easier and are very pleased with the new look.

So AGAIN THANKS!     8)

And if you want to check out the new look on the areas here is a link:
