Hi VB,
I have another request.
When someone reports a download the only notification I get (as admin) is an email and at the bottom of the downloads settings window.
Is there anyway you could add the notification to be sent to the admin on the website in the form of an alert or PM please?
The reason I ask is that, at the moment, the email is sent to the webmaster email address but that only eventually comes to me, none of the other admins get to know about the report
thanks

Hi VB,
I uploaded this to my site yesterday and the permissions stopped working. I had to revert to 6.1.5.
Just to make sure I wasn't imagining it. I've just installed 6.1.6 on my test site and set it up OK. I created a Cat and put a download in it.
I then set the cat permissions and the SMF permissions. No matter what I did my test member could not see the download created.
So in order to see if it was the new version or not I uninstalled 6.1.6 and installed 6.1.5, which I should add has never been installed on this test site, nor had the 6.1.6.
After installing the older version. I logged in as my test member and was able to see the download without any issue.
So there must be bug with 6.1.6 somewhere

I created a new group 'New' that has the permission profile set to 'inherit from: Regular Members'.
These members are set to download certain categories, let's call them 'Cups' in the 'Downloads'
In their profiles under account settings they are set to
Primary Membergroup - (no primary membergroup) Additional Membergroups - (New)
The way I see it (no primary membergroup) means they are regarded as 'Regular Members *' for everything else to do with the forum.
The problem is that if I set them to those settings then they cannot download items from the 'Cups' downloads area, yet if I set them to 'Primary Membergroup - New' then they can download items.
This seems to be wrong to me as the 'Additional Membergroups' setting should allow them to download even if their account is set to Primary Membergroup - (no primary membergroup).
Anyone who has Primary Membergroup - (no primary membergroup) would not be able to download.
I should add that obviously the 'New' group has permissions set in the downloads for 'Cups' but the '* Full Member, Hero Member, Jr. Member and Newbie are not.
If you're following me so far; what's your thoughts?

I found out I made a mistake with packaging some quizzes for the new quiz mod that will be released in the not to distant future.
So I created a new zip file and added it to the existing download, but I'm unable to delete the old file. I can delete the new file as it has a delete link next to it.
Any ideas how to delete the old file, apart from going into the download folder and finding it, which might not work as the database might still have a path to it.
The image below is of the editor page, the new file is the one at the top and at the bottom of the image you'll see the old file link

The screenshot below is of the download page itself not the editor page, the download that says Pack 6a,b,c is the one I want to keep

Hi VB,
Is it possible, with this mod, for me to create my own button and have it added manually, by admin, to a members profile the same as the badges?
I want to create a 'Donator' button and use that in place of one of the pre-installed buttons with the mod.
Is this possible?

Hi VB I have had a search around for the answer to my question but can't see one. I want to be able to limit the amount of downloads members use by changing the settings Membergroup level wait time in between downloads in minutes Membergroup level max downloads per day These show on your main downloads page https://www.smfhacks.com/download-system-pro.phpBut I cannot find either of those settings anywhere. Can you enlighten me please to where they are? Regards Dave

Hi VB,
A request for the downloads if it's not too big an ask.
Would it be possible to have check boxes next to each download, so a download or a selection of them can be moved to another category please?
So as the sites downloads grow and different things become popular so you add categories to accommodate new files, then you might want to split downloads of to other categories.
I just had to move a load of posted downloads from one category to another category and it took forever doing them one at a time, as at present you have to edit each post to move them.
Regards
Dave

Hi,
I have been playing with this on my test site and I cannot get the system to give someone credits for posting in the forum. I cannot see any different permissions required for it.
Below are the settings I've set for the downloads and permissions for everything.
What am I missing?

Hi VB,
V6.0b
I have just noticed this on my main site and have just confirmed it on my test site too.
If I go to a post, above the download button is another link to the same as the button link. I'm not sure why it would be there, as it really serves no purpose having the button below it.
This is the same across my NAS test site and my online test site also
I did download the latest version and installed it before posting
See here

Hi,
Sorry VB but the following error now comes up.
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]
During the last update I only updated the 'Downloads2.php' file would that cause this issue?

Hi,
Sorry to say there is an error with the new version of the downloads.
The site is using SMF 2.0.17 Sources 2.0.17 Default Templates 2.0.16 Language Files 2.0.16 Current Templates ? PHP ea-php73
I have listed all errors below as they are different in some way whether it be the line number or the actual error itself.
I have since reverted back to the previous 'Downloads2.php' file and everything is working fine

Hi and Merry Christmas.
I am a little confused. A couple of weeks ago I changed the
$folderid = floor from 1000 to 380. The properties of the folder now show the folder is 383MB but it hasn't created a new folder yet.
Should I have put a '0' in front of the 380? Also where in the database is the info stored showing which folder is currently used?
The reason I ask is because I want to eliminate the folder from the regular backup file (this runs 3 times a week) so as to reduce the size of the backup. I have XCloner installed and in the config you can opt out of certain folders, which I have already done with the 'Attachments' folder and the others in the downloads folder.
