Bugs / Thumbnails showing that shouldn't

Not sure if this is a bug or not. We have set up an album particularly for a certain membergroup however the thumbnails still appear in the main gallery. Surely if a membergroup can't see the album, add to it, comment or whatever, then it would make sense for them not to be able to see any thumbnails from it too.

I have noticed that when Recent Commented files option is switch on, the images are not always updating by the date of the last comment. At the moment the most recently commented on image on our gallery is showing in 8th position on the list rather than first. It was in 8th position on the list prior to the comment being added. Seems like it's only reading the time of the first comment made.

Bugs / 2.5.1 Comment box missing

A couple of my members have flagged up a problem in that they can't comment on 2 particular member's images as no comment box appears, however it shows up fine on other images. At the minute it's just 2 member's images that have no comment box. I've checked the settings and the option to "Allow the user to toggle if comments can be shown on a picture or not" is unticked. Neither of them have made any changes to their gallery recently. This has just come to light since the latest version was installed.

Support / Suggestions for the next gallery Update

I've posted these previously but realised that I'd put them in the RC1 update so thought I'd give them their own thread so they don't get lost.

1) Is it possible to have the gallery comment figure shown in each member's profile (like the post count shows over on the left) so it can be seen in the forum too?

2) How about adding a "list all" link to the comment count list in the stats page so that the top 10 are viewable, but then it's possible to view where each member is after that (same as the most viewed and top rated lists)? We have a little bit of inhouse competition on our site regarding who has made the most so being able to see where you stand on the overall list would be great.

3) will it be possible to set different figures for the main page blocks, e.g set Recent Pictures to 20, Recent comments to 8, Random Images to 12?

4) Mature/adult content - is it possible to have a toggle in a member's profile where they can switch viewing to either on or off (default would be off) rather than have it session controlled?

Feature Requests / Competition Albums

The site I run has regular competitions on it using new albums/categories for uploads, however what would be great would be the ability to make entries to these hidden until the closing date has passed. Is it possible to have a setting whereby any images uploaded to a certain album have the thumbnail covered by a layer which says "competition entry" or something similar, so anyone other than admins cannot see what has been uploaded? The same would need to apply if someone clicked the thumbnail to view the image larger. It would need another setting so after the closing date has passed this "cover" could be removed for everyone to see the entries.

One request from my users. Would it be possible to add a "return to top of the current page" type of link for the gallery alongside the page numbers at the bottom?

Bugs / Comments when not allowed

Not sure this is a bug as such (possibly more a feature change request), however it is a pain.

If an album/category doesn't allow comments, the option to add them still appears. However when someone types up the comment and hits add comment, a message then appears to say they are not allowed.

Would it be possible to not show the comment field (and quick reply) if comments are not allowed rather than letting people try?

I had the pro version for about a week now and it's going down very well on our site (www.enjoyingphotography.co.uk) but I've thought of a couple of things I'd like to see in the next version

1) being able to show more than 4 images in the most recent pictures on the gallery front page, maybe even for it to show the next page (the one you see when you click "view all") instead as we can already define the amount of images per page from that point.

2) an option similar to the above where you could click a link and see thumbnails of the images which had received the most recent comments

Modifications Talk / Block required for SMF Articles

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this so please move it if it's wrong.

On my site I'm running both SMF Articles and Tinyportal. What I'm wondering is if anyone has (or can) created a script to make a block that shows the titles of the most recent articles added.

I asked at TinyPortal and they said that as SMF Articles is not theirs they couldn't make one.

Site Discussion / SMF Articles - Title

I'm looking to be able to change the default title that appears on the SMF Articles main page, just not sure which file has the title in it. I've attached a screen shot so people know exactly which one I'm on about.

Support / Size of description field

Have tried to search for this but can't find it so maybe no-one has asked.

Is it possible to increase the amount of allowed characters in the category description field? It seems at the moment that I can type as big a description as I want but as soon as I save it, only the first 250(ish) characters remain. The rest are deleted.

I'm guessing it is set in one of the files and it just need a tweak but I don't know which file it would be.
