Support / User Uploading?
« on: July 25, 2013, 06:49:30 am »
I KNOW! we are working with a Download program with Download Pro ;)

And at my site I have around 2,000 + files up for the members to DL BUT! the members are the ones that make the files to put in the Download Areas I have setup for the community to download.

My site is a Computer Golf Site where the members have the Game and it has a Golf Course Designer with it where they can design a full golf course and then we put it up for the rest of the members to download and play their new design on their system.
And they can and do run a few tours through my site and play up to 4 members at a time just like REAL Golf is done.

For the past 6 years I have had a small ftp program they download from the site and setup on their system and attempt to upload their new designs with it.
It is getting outdated as it is a old about 10-12 years old file to do this.

What I am wondering is how, if it can be done, to setup an area through the DLPro that they can log to through the program that can be set for them to use for uploading their New Course File to me where I can then set it up in the catagory and area for the community to have access to for downloading.

I am working with SMF 2.0.4 and the latest Download Pro.
Hopeing that this is just something that I have not found how to set up yet!     ::)

Support / Adding a Column to the Cataory Listing area
« on: October 20, 2012, 04:20:03 pm »
I may be missing it but if so I can't find it in the settings area the option to turn on a column that has the NAME of who made the file.

Maybe it is not there and maybe it can be added, or someone can explain how I can add this to my Downloads Pro.

Below is an attachment that shows what I am thinking or would like to have in the Files Listing of a Category.

Basically as you see I have the File Name and the Designer in the Title column, and would like to have a separate column for the Name or Designer in my case.
As we are listing Golf Courses designed and uploaded for other members to download and play in their installed golf Game on their system.

Any thought or ideas on if I am missing something to turn on to make this happen with the Downloads Pro As Is or what changes I may be able to do to make this change.

OR! is this something that may be able to be added in a update of the Download Pro in the next version released?

Thanks in advance for any INPUT!   ;)

Support / Adding my own Icons to the Downloads
« on: November 01, 2011, 02:50:45 pm »
1st. off I am under SMF 2.0.1 and have TP as well along with my Downloads Pro.

Here is a link to my downloads:   http://www.goldenbearsden.com/index.php?action=downloads

If you use the link above you will see that I have added my own custom icons to the Download Categories and also to the Subcategories as well, of what looks like folders like what you see below.

I would like to add some small icons to the file lists as well along side each individual file listed with the text and zip and pdf icons as the second icon you see below.

Is there a way to do this?

As when I go to the edit of a file it's self, I don't see the boxes at the bottom to add an icon like in the edit area of a Categorie or Subcategorie.

So can we add an icon to each file listed inside the categories or subcategories, I got a feeling this is easy and I am just not seeing it.   So let me know if you can help me to get this working . . . . .    ;)

Support / File Listings

- = I am using SMF 2.0 and Downloads Pro 2.0.4 = -

I was wondering if there is a way that I can get the file listings on my Downloads Areas that are showing like this:
 Designer Clothing Packs
Get the goodies to make your player look good out on the course.
Sub Categories: -Charlies Assorted Player Files-, -Charlies Expansion Packs Files-, -Customize your Player with Hats & Clubs, and add Flags-, -Steve Schreiber Player Wardrobe Files-, -Original Players Outfit Sets-

To something like this instead:
 Designer Clothing Packs
Get the goodies to make your player look good out on the course.
 Sub Categories:
 -Charlies Assorted Player Files-,
 -Charlies Expansion Packs Files-,
-Customize your Player with Hats & Clubs, and add Flags-,
 -Steve Schreiber Player Wardrobe Files-,
 -Original Players Outfit Sets-

Here is a link to my Downloads to see what I am talking about, and I am open to any suggestions on getting the areas to display in a up & down list like I show above.
If it can be done to get the Sub Catagories not showing like they are.

Bugs / Spell Check not working in edit of downloads
« on: February 21, 2011, 01:00:35 pm »
I have noticed that when I am in a area of adding a download or editing a catagory or any place in the editing of Downloads that anytime I attempt to use the Spell Check Command off the button in the editing window that it will bring up the Spell Check window but it never actually checks the spelling and never shows the text in the window that pops up and I have to close the window out without getting a Spell Check report or correction.

Below is what I get when I click the Spell Check Button in the editor of the Downloads Pro.
Note that it pops this window up as soon as I click the button and it states that it is 100% already and still only reports the window as about:blank at the top.

Is there a fix for this? or is this something that needs fixed and we can see in a update soon?

THANKS! Dave [Snuffy] Smith

I notice that when you go into the Downloads Area from my forum that the footer of the Downloads shows the line of :

Powered by: Download System Pro

I would think that with the next release that it should not be to hard to start
adding to that line the release version to that line something like the following:

Powered by: Download System Pro Version 1.0.11

This will also help as a point to check after a new release to make sure that we are running the latest version as well.    8)

I'm webmaster of the site of http://www.goldenbearsden.com that has a large D/L area of about 2,000 + files up for D/L and need to know if after using the pro download what all is imported with pro as far as information about the file uploaded?

I am presently using TPDownloader along with your Download manager and thinking about upgrading to use just Downloader Pro and not having to use the TP manager along with it.

Such as file name and a few things I understand are standard but I was needing to know if using the D/L pro without using the TP download manager as I am now will PRO pick up most of the info about a file uploaded as TP and the downloader together does now without me having to use the TP downloader along with the PRO?

Thanks in advance . . .
