General SMF Forum / SMF Archive
« on: August 04, 2014, 09:58:06 am »
Hello again SMFHacks!

Our gallery pro and badge system are working great! (Thanks again)

I have a quick question about SMF Archive and was not sure where to post it...

It appears our host has implemented a database "sizing scheme" and our tables are out of the "range"...

We could pay to up the size of our dbs, but I thought since we can have unlimited dbs, why not make an "archive db" and store our old posts there...

So my question is this, does SMF Archive give you the ability to set a date to start from and grab everything from that point and older, then stores in into another db for archiving?

Then I could point to those tables to look for old posts...

Any advice on this would be helpful as we don't want to delete old posts as we have priceless info in some of the topics and would hate to loose them...

Thanks!

Is there an easy way to keep a certain badge in the 1st position when badges are being shown on the forum under your avatar?

I made a custom badge called "Paid Member" and if possible, I would like that one (when applicable) to be the first one being shown always...

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Just to keep the thread updated, I was able to successfully upload ~600 images at once via batch...

Thanks SMF Gallery Pro!

A+ service I must say!

I can just re-download from the link in my email?

Thanks much...

Oh yea, I had a question about the license, do I need to input that number somewhere in my forum, or is that just a registration number for the site on your end (here)?

Side note, also when doing the reg, I get a timeout after clicking the "Agree to terms and conditions"...(Happened on both the badge reg and gallery pro reg)...

Thanks again, much appreciated...

Well, looks like I can choose "Delete Files in FTP folder on successful import" and even if it errors out, it still grabs a few, uploads them, and then removes the uploaded images from the folder...

Although, it appears that approx. anywhere between 50 and 120 pics get uploaded at a time...

This will save me time, although I was hoping to mass upload all of them at once!

None-the-less I am still satisfied with my purchase and will continue to use Gallery Pro...

Thanks again for excellent software and support...

Maybe since I am doing some "smoke and mirrors" with my DNS and actually running the site out of a subdomain, I should try to run the batch from the actual site address??

Any info helps and I am about to attempt to run a batch with <200...

Fingers crossed...

Thanks  :)

Hey there...

Just for more info, I tried to upload 500 pics and got the blank white screen...

Here are an example of some of the errors from the forum log...

200mV -- edit

I will try batch upload with <500 and see what happens....

Thanks...

I'm just leaving them all checked...(2976 images)

I'll try with half checked and then if that doesn't work I'll try 1/4 of them checked...

Maybe a reinstall of the package if all else fails?

This is a new install on a fresh install of SMF...

On a side note, last night I tried a test run of it and I got just a blank white screen...Although, when I went back into the forums this morn, I saw one (1) got uploaded..

Thanks for the quick replies...

Sorry for the double post...

It seems I found a workaround?

I went to Gallery and selected Import Pictures of the gallery...

I then changed the folder to import to /ftp and it seemed to import them...

I am unsure on the "total count" of pics, but I now have 25 pages of pictures... ( I think it's 500 pics)

Thought I should re-post here...

Thanks and any advice is helpful..

Sorry to blow up your forum with questions, but this is why it is here, right?  ;D

Anyway, I'm trying to use the Batch Upload feature and am running into a few hurdles....

First, my /ftp folder is populated with approx. 3000 images weighing in at about 3.0GB in size.

Second, when I go to Batch Upload, it shows the correct count of images.

I made a "General Category" for my image dump, I am not using a "User Gallery" option.

I am also selecting "Ignore gallery height, width, filesize max settings"

When I choose the category, and click "Import" I receive the following error --

You need to select a category or user category to upload pictures to

I have a category created for this and I have permissions set for full permissions for administrators.

Not sure where to go from here...

Any advice helps, and hope you noticed I purchased the badge system, cool little add-on and worth the extra $...

Thanks for the support and excellent software...

I tried to purchase Gallery Pro and got this message --

We are sorry, we are experiencing temporary difficulties. Please try again later. If this error occurred while making a payment, avoid duplicate payments by checking your Account Overview before resending a payment.

Message 3005

I do not see a transaction in my PayPal account, but I guess I will try again tomorrow?

Any advice would be appreciated...
