Modifications Talk / country flags mod« on: December 29, 2010, 09:23:22 pm »
Okay, so I got it to work on my WWI reenactor site, www.great-war.org. I wanted to only have the flags of the main belligerents during WWI (and as portrayed by our member groups). Changed the code and images.
I also wanted to add the flag they choose to their profile. I made a larger image of each, like SMFHacks told me, each named image__large.png -- I should mention that I have (and happily use) the Ultimate Profile mod v. 0.9 and, of course, it's a Tiny Portal site. This is in 1.1.12 for SMF and TP v. 1.0 RC1. Anyway, I (through the help of a friend) have the code on the ultimateProfile.template.php file, if not working, at least not crashing the page. However, it doesn't show the flag. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to mod another file? I am not a programmer and working w/ php code makes my eyes glaze over and little puffs of smoke come out my ears... Also, second thing (do I need another topic for this?): When they register and on their profile, etc. it says something like "What country are you visiting us from?" and I want it to say "What nation do you portray?" Where do I change this code? Thanks for any help.... Best, Marsh 3

So, if I made the sizes 150 would it distort the photo in the thumbnail or would it just resize one dimension?

is that something I could change or is it beyond me? I mean is it like one spot, in one file or... php craziness, which is beyond me. I will be upgrading that site to pro soon, just waiting on some money coming in... prob near end of Jan unless i can get some donations to come in...

General SMF Forum / Staff Mod - Question/Request« on: November 29, 2010, 10:02:30 pm »
Is there a way or is it possible to add the "custom title" thing from SMF to the staff mod page? I have a club we're in and I'd like to have the officer's titles in their staff group listing.
Thanks, Marsh 8

Alas, I messed it up somehow... I got this:
Template Parse Error! There was a problem loading the /Themes/default/Gallery.template.php template or language file. Please check the syntax and try again - remember, single quotes (') often have to be escaped with a slash (\). To see more specific error information from PHP, try accessing the file directly. I would like to add a bright red box to my gallery's main page that has a link to a page explaining how to size photos for my site. How/where would I do this? PHP is a pretty alien thing for me.

I would check on the gallery path setting that should not impact if the image is displayed on the site but only affect uploads. Check that the path is the right path for your new server.I did this. I am pretty sure. And when I tried it different, it lost all photos. If need be, i could set you up a log-in. I don't get it. 13

I did that. the old photos are there, fine! But when someone tries to post a new photo, their text is there, but the photo isn't. Could that have to do w/ some folder settings???

...now people can post photos, but the pix isn't there. The info w/ it is there, but the photo isn't. I've looked at the paths and stuff and can't find anything wrong. Ideas where to search?
