Apologies, just noticed an old PM offering renewal at reduced rates. All sorted.

Thanks

Feature Requests / SMF 2 RC4 - Options for a prior buyer
« on: November 03, 2010, 05:53:42 pm »
Hi vbg, I purchased Gallery Pro for my forum approx 18 months ago and whilst I expected not to get support after the 12 months, am I right in thinking I can't upgrade to RC4 and keep this mod? Do I need to pay the 50 bucks again to get a version compatible with RC4?

Thanks
W

The admin option is headed Category Thumbnail Settings
Show title does not work when selected so thumbnails are just shown as images with other firelds but no title

Ok. I've been watching this as I have had similar issues with SMF Gallery Pro 2.5.5 running on SMF RC1.2

The bugs appear as follows:

1) The thumbnails in recent images shown on the Gallery home page appear to be membergroup permissions specific but when click 'List All' the suer can see thumbnails of all images. Same for Random images

2) Main categories do not appear if permission is denied to a membergroup but sub-categories are still listed on the Gallery page even if a member cannot access them

3) Reported elsewhere, the Gallery Pro system does not work with additional membergroups, so a member in main membergroup1 who has an additional membergroup2 will only respect the permissions assigned to membergroup1.

Hope that gives you sometingt o work with !

The admin option to Show Title (of image) does not appear to function?

I thought so. I have one category of images that default sort by title ascending as they are in numeric order. It jumps around (back to picture_id order) when using previous/next.

Is there an edit I can hard code to correct just for this category to use the previous/next by title ascending? Or to change so that all previous/next links work in this way?

Thanks

I think this issue is still outstanding on latest 2.5 version...is that correct?

If so, is a fix likely or am I better to just turn off these Links in the admin settings?

Thanks

Same for Articles and Gallery.

When I turn on use_tabs the separators ('|') disappear and links are just text taken from the alt= code I assume. As per above error, in both mods it appears to be not pointing to the files themselves, just to the directory?

Support / Re: How do you turn new WYSIWYG off in gallery?
« on: July 28, 2009, 05:02:23 pm »
It is a link to an image but its not that they use the BBC img tags - way to compelx for the majority of my members!

I have Simple Image Upload mod which adds a text link under the icons which says "Add Image to Post" - as I say my users are older, less computer literate, and they like simple stuff. When they go to the gallery and add an image, when the WYSIWYG appears above the description they see "Add an Image to Post", are used to using that for topics and messages so click on it for the gallery! Hence it ends up in the description and they get an error as no image is attached.

They then see the Browse button, add the same image and I end up with a linked one in the description and an attached one!

To be honest I'd like to turn of WYSIWYG in the gallery anyway as smileys and different sized/coloured text just buggers up the look and feel of the screens...

Sorry

Can I make that a feature request. My users are all older, less computer literate types and they keep adding images to the description!

Users are getting confused as the gallery upload page looks too similar to posting a message so they are trying to add images to the decsription using WYSIWYG. How do I disable?

Need more help... I use Shadow People theme on RC1.2. I also use SMF Gallery and SMF Articles which as you know look better using the maintab style top maintenance menu system, similar to default. In Shadow people this is turned off in the theme index.template file (use_tabs set to false) but when I edit and set this to true whilst the MyProfile and Maintenance sub-menus appear as tabs, within the mod they stay as text.

The html code above appears to indicate that the theme is not passing the correct image file names for the tabs - any clues where to look to correct this. It handles the other top and bottom tab style menus fine within SMF, just these mods...

Cheers

There seems to be another setting not quite right within SMF. Maybe you can help.

The use_tabs settings are true and have amended as you suggest but still just get the alt text rather than the image. When I look at the page html I see that SMF is not looking for the image name...

Code: [Select]
<div class="buttonlist">
<a href="http://www.xxx/forum/index.php?action=gallery;su=user;u=1" ><img src="http://www.xxx/forum/Themes/Solihull II/images/english/" alt="MyGallery" border="0" /></a>&nbsp;<a href="http://www.xxx/forum/index.php?action=gallery;sa=myimages;u=1" ><img src="http://www.xxx/forum/Themes/Solihull II/images/english/" alt="MyImages" border="0" />... etc

Any ideas? All works fine in default theme but in the amended Shadow People theme I use something seems to be turned off beyond the use_tabs setting?
