That was kind of the idea I had with integrating with SMF Shop. Members could have their "Shop Credits" pay for upto 50% of the item's cost.

Presales for Products / Downloads vs. Downloads Pro« on: August 31, 2009, 08:51:43 am »
Hi,
I've been using Downloads System for a while now, and I think it's great. I recently inquired about some features to be added that are currently avialable in the Pro version (subtracting "points" for downloads, etc) But, I'd like to know if a few issues have been corrected in the Pro version that don't seem to work in the non-Pro version. 1. Does the sub-categories on the main category page list in alphabetical order? 2. When adding a new download, the list of the Categories is... unorganized. I'd love to see something like: Main Category -- Sub Category 1 -- Sub Category 2 -- -- Sub Sub Category 1 -- -- Sub Sub Category 2 -- Sub Category 3 Another Category (all alaphabetized would be awesome!) 3. The numerical counts on the main category page includes all the sub categories. 4. As an admin, I'd like to be able to set the member via a drop down box (listing real_name). 5. I'd love for the downloads to be sorted properly if there are more than one page. Right now, I have a work-around where I've set the number of downloads insanely high (like 100). If I don't do this, page 2 doesn't continue to list the unseen downloads from page 1, it like lists the same downloads out of order. One feature I would absolutely adore would be like a URL browser. Right now, I have some members that upload files to my server via FTP. I would love the ability to just browse to a set directory tree on my server to add the URL (and generate the file size -- I have a script snippet that I use to do this manually). I'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is, I would love to see it. I think that's all I've got. Great product, just a little tweaking -- perhaps some of these issues have been fixed in a subsequent release of the basic Downloads System. I would feel better about spending the cash for the Pro version knowing that these issues aren't... issues. Thank you! 4
Modifications Talk / Downloads + Gallery« on: July 31, 2009, 08:47:20 pm »
I'm not sure where to put this.....
What I want to do is see if there is a way to automatically populate the Downloads system with specific media files from the Gallery (like music only: mp3...) Also, while I'm on the subject of Downloads: Is there a way to add support for the SA Shop (SMF 2.x version of the SMF Shop). What I would like to do is deduct a number of credits from the member's account who downloads a file. Maybe something like 1 point per every 5KB? Thank you! 5
Bugs / Multiple Qty with shipping« on: May 05, 2009, 12:43:42 am »
I think I may have found a bug:
When shipping is required, I bought 2 of the same product, yet the total didn't compute shipping for two items, only one item shipping was added. Also, if I have multiple different items, is there a way to set the Store to ship everything as a group? Is that what the Group check box is for? Is there a way to increase the shipping cost to compensate for the weight increase? Thanks! 6
Support / Problems Updating Table« on: May 01, 2009, 02:31:33 pm »
Hi, I'm having a rather strange problem.
I am trying to uncheck 'onsale' items. The interface isn't making the changes. I tried to execute a query in a terminal: Code: [Select] UPDATE smf_store_item SET onsale = '0', saleprice = '0.00' WHERE onsale = '1'; The result claimed there were 33 changes, however, no changes were actually made. The problem only seems to be with the smf_store_item table. (I've run other queries on other tables just fine). Does anybody have any suggestions? Nevermind. I restarted the mysql service and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks! 7
Feature Requests / Group by "Additional Categories"« on: May 01, 2009, 09:43:23 am »
Hi, I needs some help with the product query. Here's what I want to do:
If you've been to my store, you'll know that I've grouped each product in it's own category (named by the anime series title), and then I've added the additional category for the type of product it is. So for example, what I'd llike is a break down like this (If I click on Ah My Goddess, I'll get) Ah My Goddess DVD's: {some products} Manga: {some products} Books: {some products} Accessories: {some products} However, if I click on DVD's I want the listing to be broken down by Primary Category (like the following) DVD's Ah My Goddess {some products} Azumanga Daioh {some products} Happy Lesson {some products} ... I thought just by adding a GROUP BY was sufficient enough, but, it's not. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks! 8

I've just set it up to use up to 50% discount for "credits" for each item. Now all I need to know is where is the final action either before or after the payment is done, so I can actually subtract the 'points' from the member account.

Do you have any quick ideas where I could start with this.
I think the most logical place would be just before checkout, to have the option to use "Store Credits" to buy merchandise. 10
Feature Requests / Re: Linked Keywords« on: April 27, 2009, 09:04:09 pm »
Yes. Here is the example in action. I'm also going to add a keywords to the products entry, and add another database table to act as an explanitory page...much like a Wiki. Also, I'm probably going to replace the Related items once I do that, so it will automatically generate the related items (based on an exact or near exact match of *all* the keywords defined.)
Ah My Goddess (Thanks, I'm glad you like my little modifications. I can give you the code if you'd like) Update: My coding is now finished! I now have keywords for the categories, and products, and I've also added a wiki page for each keyword, and finally, I added a link to an existing media gallery, downloads, and message board discussions. 11
Feature Requests / Linked Keywords« on: April 27, 2009, 12:14:08 pm »
Hi, I have a request (
What I would like is to have a Keywords field added. Personally for my use, having it on the Category level would work great, but I guess for Products if others needed that support. What the keywords would do, is parse the description, anywhere it finds a matching keyword, it would translate it into a hyperlink. By clicking on that hyperlink, you'd be given a listing of all other products (categories) that have those keywords defined. For example, I run an anime store, and I've got all my products categorized by anime title. If I type in the keywords (in the category of say "Ranma 1/2") of "Romantic Comedy, Martial Arts, 13+", if I click on "Romantic Comedy", I'll be redirected to a new index page with a listing of other categories that have the keyword "Romantic Comedy" defined. By adding a feature like this, you could essentially automatically create "Related Products". What do you think? 12
Feature Requests / Category's« on: April 24, 2009, 06:49:09 pm »
Would it be possible to tweak the description for the Categories?
For example: Ah My Goddess I basically removed the description from the main listing, and placed it at the top of the products results within the category. Thanks! 13
Feature Requests / Integrate with SMF Shop« on: April 23, 2009, 03:56:07 pm »
Hi,
I am wondering if it's possible to integrate SMF Store with SMF Shop. What i want to do is this: For each 1,000 "points" earned by SMF Shop, the member get's $1.00 credit that he/she can use towards purchases in the SMF Store. Can this be done?
