whoops I was mistaken, I was confusing the category listing with the layout settings.
If you goto the main settings and click Layout you have a few options of what to show on the category listings. I don't see Description in that list though.

It does allow you to select which items are listed, it even allows for custom items.

youll need the code that declares the value for total_files otherwise total_files will just return "" or nothing between two quotes
my guess is you'd have to include a reference to the downloads file in the source folder, but im no expert at all at this stuff.

yes, please, everything that gets uploaded still = 0 credits unless i set it to 1 credit per byte, and then everyone ends up with thousands of credits. It's like we go from gold coins to dracmas lol.
The credit system is almost perfect, it just needs a bit more tweaking.
establish a download value either by uploader or by default. Default Value = X

Hacks, can ya hook me up with some stuff for TP blocks to show the most recent download.
Like Title and Thumb and maybe Author?

I would think thats a good thing. Here's why
I have users that download things, then they lose them or format, or buy new machines. They tend to get a little upset when they have to spend credits again.
I am not sure thats a bug more so than a planned feature.
If they spent it once, whats it matter if they have access to it later down the road?

I am still having issues with uploads resulting in being equal to 0 download credits needed.
I am looking at the new options in 1.0.3 and I am not really catching on. I dont really want to give 1 credit per byte, per kb, or per mb really. Is there a way that I can just set a default credit value, or am I missing something obvious (very possible lol).
in the option I can give the uploader 1 credit + Nth number of credits for the file size but it seems to establish the files download credit value I only have the option of file size?

I like image first myself. It just depends on what types of files you put in your downloads.
I am sorta partial to the old TP layout myself, you have short description under the title.
Just depends on what your doing I guess. I dont know that any layout would make all of us happy.

Well, obviously there isnt 1 credit scheme that works for all forum types but I would like to make a few suggestions on the credits and see what you guys think.
1) There should be an admin set Floor and Ceiling variable set to determine the absolute lowest value a download can be worth and a max number of credits a download can be worth if getting credits based on file size. I don't want to encourage people to upload 40 meg files to earn credits.
My forum group trades 3d models. Our file sizes get pretty big, and its easy to spam the uploads with bloated files by increasing the number of triangles in the model. I can take a model from 1mb to 1gb in about 2 clicks. It would be great if I could say a file was worth 5 credits MAX and never worth less than 1 credit when uploading.
2) It would also be nice if a user could override the default number of credits required to download their upload. If the file is only 10kb but its something thats seriously hard to model or find, the guy shouldnt have to let people download it for 1 credit, he'll just add more triangles and bloat the file, which just hurts my storage space on my server lol.
3) I think it makes sense that when a user downloads a file, the author of that file should be able to earn credits (if enabled). This way, users that submit more sought after files will earn more profit from them by earning more credits. Sorta like a royalty payout.
I guess ultimately Id like a min/max value for earning credits, more user based control for editing the value of their upload (like setting their price). And the ability to earn a credit when another user downloads your file.

ahhh could be ,bud.
I dont have the mod security installed myself but I do know that it does normally work under 1.0.2 for certain so you're probably very right.
Hopefully hacks can get ya squared away.

agreed. I have a feeling the logs will pile up pretty quickly as the archive grows.

I see a few options for stats but I am a little confused about this particular one
Is Most Viewed indeed "viewed" or "Downloaded"
If its Downloaded then its worded weird
If its indeed Views only then we are missing Most Downloaded.
