Hi,
I am wanting to make it so that whenever anyone visits my forum, the first view they see is the Classifieds section, rather than the board index. Can you possibly explain how I can achieve this please?
Thanks!

Fixed. It was as you first suggested. My forum as default is was set to English UTF8. I've set it to just English and it works fine now.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have just installed SMF 1.1.4 from fresh and not changed a thing. I then purchased, and installed SMF Classifieds. Install worked ok. I got onto the initial setup page. I noticed that the menu items on the left hand side (still using the default SMF theme) were missing. I have just tried installing the SMF Trader to see if that enables it to work. - still no menu options. Even the SMF Trader menu is missing as well!
If i go into permissions, they are all blank for SMF Classifieds also.
Can you give me a pointer please? Thank you kindly.

All fixed. Host replied with this: Hello,
I have made some changes to Mod Security not to block what your script was reporting as a problem. It worked and we are back online. Thanks to my host, ukhost4u.com and SMFHacks

Ok, I'll ask them about that to see if they would be willing to make the exception.

Hi again, I have had word back from my site host and the news is not good I'm afraid: Dear Mr Gibbs
we have "Mod_Security" turned on as its a server requirement to secure all the accounts and we would not swith it off, the author could easily rewrite this code to make it work with Mod_Security, but sorry we would not turn it off I did try the .htaccess as described in the various artices previsouly posted but they didn't seem to make any difference.

I am also having the same problem with my Gallery. I am using the current version of Gallery and I was using 1.1.4 of SMF. As a result of this problem, I tried upgrading the forum to 1.1.5 but it is still the same. Whenever I attempt to view any pictures in the gallery, I get the 406 error. Thumbnails are ok. I have placed a .htaccess file into the "Forum" folder of my site as described in the article you posted but it made now difference. I also tried placing it in the root folder and also the "Gallery" folder and still nothing. Any more ideas please? Thanks. http://www.aacnw.com/forum

Ah hold on. I just switched back to the default theme and tried the following: Upload a photo as a user. The topic was created, the picture had a scroll bar to view the oversized image. I edited the topic and clicked save. The picture shrunk nicely to the desired size. I edited the topic again and found it had inserted these tags: So all that is needed is for the Gallery to insert these tags when it creates the post? It seems as if the Gallery bypasses the Admin --> Forum --> Attachments and Avatars --> Attachment Settings --> Resize images when showing under posts: check box.

Viewing the main gallery shows the incorrect order, and again - when I try to UP it, it fails with the same error.

I edited the post again and it simply says the same as before. No extra BBC tags.
Just the usual IMG tags

Just another small issue here. When a user submits a photo into one of my categories, I have set the category to post a full size picture into a board on the forum. Works a treat. However, when I look at the post it created, the picture is way out of the bounds of the frame. I do have a work around for this: If I edit the post and then save it, the picture gets resized to be inside the frame. I am guessing here, but there must be something in the post.template.php that tells a post to display an image as a certain maximum size. Something that is not present in the gallery post submission php? Or am I way off? Thanks for any advice.

Hi, I am having a bit of an issue moving my root level categories up and down the list. I create a new category called "Your Cars!" and then moved it up the list by clicking the UP button. As shown here: It went as far as where it is on the pic above, but when I attempted to move it further up, it gave me this error: So being a clever boy (against nature), I tried to move the "Non Club Events" category down. And it said there is no category below the current one! arghh. It's stuck I can move "Your Cars!" further down the list, but not any higher than on pic 1. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd just like to second this. I have most of my pictures in subcategories, so on the front page, it looks like I don't have any pics! Thanks.
