Description for ads not being inserted.

Descriptions are not showing up in Classified ads.

Adding or editing an ad. The description text does not appear in ad. Everything else is as should be.

Have uninstalled Messenger Pro, with same result. No errors appear in the log.

Any help in resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Using the latest version? What SMF version? Does simple text not even work?

SMF 2.0.8/ Classifieds 5.1.6a(listed) but actually 5.1.6b

It has been dropping text for a while after editing. Today it simply would not hold any text. I uninstalled Message Pro, reinstalled 5.1.6b and reinstalled Message Pro 1.0.7.  That allowed me to enter a description. I will monitor this and get back with you if this didn't fix it.

Lost some more text, so I did some testing. Apparently apostrophes prevent the remainder of the text from being inserted...

Everything after the apostrophe is being ignored. They're =everything after they is ignored.

Strangely single quotes - 'like this'  works.

Is this normal editor message editor pro enabled?

I did a quick test with normal editor didn't have that issue.

Also anything in your forum's error log?

Yes Messenger Pro is enabled.

Nothing in error log.

Tested several ways. All works as expected using standard keyboard characters.

If copying text (removing format or not) it isn't the standard apostrophe that caused the failure in this instance. It was the use of the alt 0180 special character the customer used.

Just tested a couple, but it appears special characters causes the problem.

I would check in phpmyadmin if the table is utf8 the collation

I refreshed everything and it has been corrected. I think this was a problem with collation. Some special characters were failing so that makes sense. Thanks!
