SMFBlog Mod
« on: July 07, 2022, 05:09:00 am »
I know this is an old unsupported mod but, I am still using the SMFBlog mod and it's working fine on 2.0.19, on the odd occasion (generally after an upgrade to SMF) I get no content listing from the blogs and is cured by going to the board that is being used as a blog and deselecting it save the changes and then reselect and it works again.

My point is I am sad that this is no longer being supported as I love this mod and so do a couple of my clans members. I hope one day you may take up the project again even if it's a pro version I would happily go for that.

What drew me to this topic is the Modification updater reports this as V2.0 but wants me to update to V1.0. Not reporting this as a bug just a point of interest, please see attached pic showing this.

Fixed the version number on the mod site.
Was hoping this other one was going to take off https://github.com/PortaMx/PmxBlog-1.1

Did two other minor fixes in this update.
!Fixed case of the http:// links in paging function. Now checks for https too.
!Fixed undefined id_member in a function call

I will give that version a try, didn't mean to give you grief, but then I guess you want bug reports (even though the end result was aesthetics)

Thank you.

I'm sorry for posting on an older thread.  I was able to get SMFBlog working beautifully on 2.1.4 Default and posted about it HERE.  On that post, I only showed the files where I had to modify the parsing and it works absolutely fine, no errors, the database is happy.

I have created a category for Blogs and each member who wants to blog is assigned their own board within that category.  The global, per board, is set to "Reply Only" and the blogger that a unique board is assigned to is the moderator for that board, so that they, alone, can post a new topic.

It all works beautifully.  I do have one request and I am happy to pay for the modification.  When you click on "Blog" in the top nav, it opens to "Available Blogs" (I'm attaching a screenshot).  If you then click on (for example) "Admin's Blog" it wants to take you to index.php?action=blog;sa=view_blog;name=admins-blog.  What I am hoping for is that it will take you to index.php?board=3.0 (in this particular case) and so on, for every blogger's unique board.

Would that be a modification within the Blog.php file?  Again, I realize that it's an older mod that isn't actively being updated, so I'm happy to pay for the modification that would allow "Available Blogs" to direct to the board number when clicking on the Blogger's name.

Thank you for any assistance.  :)
