How are ads sourced
« on: December 28, 2022, 04:45:50 am »
How exactly are ads / advertisers sourced for Ad Seller Pro?

Also, as I understand it, ASPro allows you to have ads on a none SMF site.  Is this in addition to an SMF site, or is it one or the other?

Sourced? You need to find an advertiser such as google adsense which gives placement code in html.
Or if you allow members to buy ads on your site they would enter their own banner/link to their site.

It can do both. For a third party site it works via an iframe code that you place on a webpage.

Have you seen the ToU for adsense?  They give almost every reason under the sun why they shouldn't pay you anything.  Allowing members to buy ad space isn't bad though.

Doesn't surprise me somehow.  I last used adsense some time ago for a site that had a fair number of visitors yet according to google the number of clicks was very low so was getting me not very far.
Anyway, allowing members to place ads still sounds good.  What about casual visitors as well as members?
By that what I mean is, I could perhaps put a notice up on my forum inviting casual visitors to submit ads via email, so I wouldn't be relying just on members.
