2.1.4 - Using drag and drop.
« on: July 22, 2023, 11:04:12 am »
Hello,

I've just had my forum upgraded to 2.1.4 and I've seen that we're able to use drag and drop to add attachments to posts.

I'd say that 70% of my 9000 members are over the age of 50, and technology isn't their thing.  They struggle with adding to the gallery, and were hoping that it would be simpler to upload.

Is it possible to mod the forum, so that the drag and drop function actually drops the files into a single specific folder in the gallery?  I don't want attachements saving elswehere, just the gallery.   :)

If this needs to be a custom mod, please let me know.

Also, once I click "Add image to post and upload to gallery" and the window pops up, I'd like to change this, with a logo and instructions.  Could you let me know what file I need to edit, so that I can customize, please?

Drag and drop on adding to a post in a forum. so instead of saving as attachment it would copy to the gallery? Or save in both spots? Both spots would probably be easier.

It would be in Sources/Gallery2.php in function Gallery_PostUpload()

I would just want that feature to save in the Gallery, not attachment folder.  Otherwise I'd have two lots of items on the forum, and my forum is already on 175GB.   :-\

Great about the php file, I'll take a look.  Thanks.

So it would still insert into the post but instead of storing it as an attachment store in the gallery.
