Not a valid picture file

All of a sudden when users (including myself) try to upload a photo we get the the error : Not a valid picture file . Any idea how to remedy ?

Also did your host do any changes recently like GD upgrades?

Here's two of the photos I tried to upload today. I've tried several different JPEG images and all give me the same error message.

Will check with my host on the GD upgrades.

OK, now we've got that down. Is there anyway to trouble shoot the issue ? My host has not changed the GD so that is not the issue. If I give you access can you check it ?

This is a host issue.

Might be that the permissions for temporary files are not allowed or a GD problem.

Was not able to upload a picture for an avatar
Could not get the CAPTCHA image on registration to work/appear.
