I would love to have a galley category for users to add their favorite YouTube files.

Custom media types are planned not sure if it will be part of the gallery or addon to the gallery.

It would be totally exciting to see it brought to life

Part of the gallery would be great, then you could have your navigation bar as Photo/Video Gallery and have a category Videos.

Video is a big part of our site and we already enjoy using the SMF Gallery.
