Question, SMF Links and Gallery

Hey guys.. I just installed both these mods on my forums (SMF, 1.1.3)

I can access them by using the URL line, like /index.php?action=links  and  /index.php?action=gallery  but they're not showing up on my forum's navigation area.. (Using the plain default theme)

any ideas on what I may have done wrong, or what I need to do to correct this problem?  I used the installer to put the mods up.. no errors :(

also, I do not see the settings, etc in th eadmin area.. arnt there suppose to be a settings page, etc I can access from there? My forums are using English as their language
