Admin selectable default category for uploads

When I set up Gallery pro, the first category I created contains several sub categories.  I do not want anyone to upload pics to the main category, so I set permissions to prevent people from uploading to that category.  Problem is, when they select [Add a Picture], it still defaults to this main category, so they get a permissions error every time they forget to choose a sub category, which is frustrating.  If the admin could choose a different default category, then newbies can post to a category you specify be default.

Or just remove that link to add picture near the bottom of the gallery and just leave the add picture links inside each gallery category.

Sorry, I'm a bit dense at the moment, I don't quite follow you on your workaround.

Fixed in 1.3 so only the galleries they have permission to post in will be visible in the category list.

Would it be possible to make the first choice in the drop down list of catagories be blank.
That way the members would have to choose a catagory instead of it defaulting to the fist choice every time.
That's what usually happens from what I've seen and I end up with a boat load of pics in the first catagory.

It is possible would require some coding to fix. Would require an extra option in Gallery.template.php when adding a picture.
