Can I let members list items for sale for free?

What other types of classified other then thing for sale could this be used for?

I would like to let members of my forums post items for sale for free and I would also like to have a "wanted" section of the classified were member could post things they are looking to buy.

Could that be done with the Classified mod?

Yes items can be listed for free. You have the option of setting in each category whether listings cost or not.

Yes you could do a wanted section just would not take advantage of the bidding system.

One more, for the Domain for SMF Classifieds: box you want just the .com like ApplianceJunk.com or were the location of the forums like ApplianceJunk.com/forums. Does it make any difference?

I downloaded it without any trouble and it's awesome!

In my "wanted" category I do not want a price or place bid button to be displayed.
I have the "Only auction Listings" unchecked, but it does not seem to make much difference.

How can I set up a "Wanted" category with the auction items showing?

I think its around the 1360 line on the Template file.  (It might be 1600s??... I am not at home to look at the script right now)  You can delete the buttons somewhere areound there.  It will probabably change all the listings though??

You could nix the bid now button and when someone is placing a "wanted" for the price they can just put $12345 or just leave it blank.  It might be a bit wonky, but everyone will know because its a wanted item.
