Extra Optional Custom Fields not showing up in cart, email & paypal..

I did a cursory search to find something similar but did not find any...

Our Store is for shirts and we have one of the 'Extra Optional Custom Fields' used for the 'size' designation but it does not show up in the cart, emails back to the paypal email account or in paypal. It also does not show up in the store backend 'transactions' except for the very first one when the script was first installed..

Since then I have installed Gallery Pro & Classifieds as well, removing them once to try and get Paid subscriptions working...

Any Ideas?

Which version of the SMF Store are you using?

Confirmed issue is that PayPal accepts fields os0 os1
The Store is checking for os1 and os2 which causes it to skip the first custom field entry.

Will have a fix for this tonight.

OK.. I tried to uninstall the version of the store I had in the default theme and got errors... I unistalled anyway and then installed the new version which duplicated entries and generally munged the forum up..

I replaced the sources, default theme directory all the root files which brought back the forum to it's original state (had to run repairsettings to re connect the database).. Re installed all my mods, Classified, Trader, Store (new version) Gallery Pro (new version), Gallery SSI, Paid subscriptions, Google Member Map, Custom Profile Field, SMF Staff Page, Tiny Portal, Ad Management, & SMF Galley Pro Profile Link without errors...

I went into the Store and tried to purchase an Item and did not see the 'custom filed' on the email nor the paypal page.... In addition now when I post a classified ad it triplicates itself...

Database errors?  Would be willing to allow you in the backend...

The custom fields are only showed inside the Store's Transactions page after a purchase is made.

OK, the funny thing is when I login as a non admin I purchase a shirt and I do see the 'size' in the paypal page.. But I just noticed that I don't see the transactions for the shirts I test purchased yesterday (as an admin) and this morning (as a regular user) on the admin backend of the store... They are not on the list..

On another note.. (might be the problem) We have been changing the default paypal account for the store from the site's paypal account to the shirt manufacturer's paypal account.  The IPN is not setup on the manufacturer's paypal account but it is setup on the site's... The reason we are doing this is that the shopping cart only works for the default paypal account.

I just thought, before (a previous configuration) the manufacturer's paypal account was in the individual item's configuration & not the default-- they are showing up in the transaction page...

I will change the default paypal account to the site's (the one with the IPN setup correctly) and have someone purchase a shirt...

With the new version that you have installed you should be able to use the sandbox mode with PayPal where you can use fake money to do test purchases.
There is an option under Payment Modules to enable sandbox mode.
You would also need to set $paypal_debug = true; in the storeipn.php file

OK.. long absence I know.. I have been trying to get the store work 'out of the box' per say.. I have reset the entire site (re uploaded all sources and re applied all mods,, Store first)..  I can't get option fields to work with the shopping cart (and IPN setup correctly) and now we found a new issue (I think)..  When using the store with a different individuals paypal account - not the main stores paypal w/IPN- (this is how we have been using it since the shopping cart issue)  a customer will update the quantity of a $5 item to say 15 and when the 'buy now' button is hit they go to paypal with a $632 total attached...

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you are using the latest version which can be found at

The price for qty is currently set for (item price * qty)  + (shipping price * number of items ordered)


Also you will only see the custom fields inside the Store -> Transaction Log

Had to re-uploaded my sources, default theme, etc.. to get store, classifieds, & Gallery pro un-installed...  I could never run the uninstall on each-- too many errors etc..

I now have a plain Jane forum only with the store loaded as only mod..

I'm still seeing the quality issue- when you select a product (that has a 'different' paypal addr - thus no Cart) you can change the quantity and the price goes up accordingly.. when you click on 'buy now' the paypalpage shows the total from the store page times the quantity and thus a exorbitant cost is displayed for the customer to pay.

Also, the Extra fields are not showing up on the paypal page on a products that has the cart (store wide paypal account with IPN configured correctly) and not showing up in the transaction history..

I though this might be related to the no running the uninstall on each of your scripts, classified, Gallery Pro and Store so I went in as root of the server (I'm the owner of a hosting company and have FULL root privies on this Plesk 8 server) and 777ed all the files associated with smf before I re-uploaded all the sources etc so all scripting would have full authority to overwrite any files necessary. SMF seemes very happy and easily went about it's business service the forum (in playschool mode) after...

I would be glad to give you complete access and pay additional $$ (Donation) to resolve,

Addition..

I know you said that I would only see the fields in the transaction log- and not the paypal page but you do see the fields in the paypal page when the item has a different paypal account not associated with the site (ie no cart system)

If the item does not have an additional or different paypal address than the site-- then you don't see the filed in the paypal page (you said I would not) or in the transaction log.
Quantity issue is presenting..

If the item does have an additional or different paypal address than the site you do see the custom fields in the paypal page and in the transaction log, but no carts system (understandably so) or quantity (quantity issue)...

OK,

I just backed up everything, deleted the virtual in Plesk..  Recreated.. loaded SMF from scratch.. restored the database... loaded the latest version of the store.. & everything works Except the for the quality issue described above...

The custom Fields do not show up in the paypal page and papal emails but do show up in the transaction logs... YEA!  (This is on a products using the cart system with the stores paypal)  The quantity issue is NOT happening!!  Everything works great when in the cart mode.

When the product or item has a different paypal address then the store, I am seeing the quantity issue as above...

Now...  I will re apply the Gallery Pro and Classifieds (latest versions) and let you know...

Fixed the qty issue.  Issue was PayPal was using the qty that was passed over * the final price that was passed to PayPal.
