Using Custom Fields - altering the classifieds platform - how to?

I want to set up a job board on a domain I own.

I'm currently using SMF and the "hacks" classifieds 9which I love) elsewhere.

Can I set up this combo to run strictly as a job board?

So, I'd need to add some fields of my own, and hide items liek the bid/purchase buttons, etc.

This thread hinted at it, but I'm stumped on getting the custom fields to work - don't even know where to find them

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Custom Fields can be added after you create category.
Once the category is created you can then add custom fields by editing the category.
