Error on upload
« on: November 16, 2007, 09:24:36 am »
Hi all, could anyone please tell me what this error means :

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4000 bytes) in  /Sources/Subs-Graphics.php on line 306
The file i wanted to upload was well in all my max file size settings.

Rgds Stuart.

Would need to see the picutre used.

The error happens if it reachs the php memory limits processing an image.

Grab the 1.3.5 upgrade package and install it.

I just did the upgrade on that link and am still getting that memory error.

Do I have to call my host and have them change something on the server?

Check with your host it is normally a php.ini setting for the memory limit that needs to be increased

I've seen this mentioned a couple times but I'm not sure what exactly to tell my host.

I should tell them that I need the php.ini settings changed to...?

Increase memory_limit  in the php.ini

Something like
memory_limit = 45M

Excellent, turns out every site on our host has their own and I was able to change mine by myself.

For a 5 megapixel pic I needed the limit to be 96M before it would resize to just below 2 megapixel which is the limit for our gallery.
