Fatal error when trying to upload a large pic...
« on: February 06, 2008, 12:03:23 am »
My php.ini file is set to 5M for max UL as well as the gallery setting is set to 5M for max image size... but one of my users was trying to UL a pic that reads ad 1.75M in size and this is what hes getting, I had him email me the pic so I could try it and I got the same error... but this is what we both get...

Seems like the host/php settings are limiting memory to 32mb.

SMF by default tries to use I belive up to 45mb when it resizes an image.

Well, my host allows custom php.ini... and I have my max UL size set to 5m and the setting for max image size on the gallery is set for the default 5000000 bytes (Megs)... and the pic itself is only 1.75M so go figure...

Edit : I looked at my file (php.ini) again and found this... the memory limit use to be 32M but I changed it to 55M and I'm still getting the same fatal error...

memory_limit = 55M      ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (10MB)

Problem solved, I had to put the php.ini file in both the forums root folder and the gallery folder... all works as intended now...
