No Button Available
« on: February 26, 2008, 12:27:24 am »
It seems to be a familiar dilemma of many who install the MOD, not the the fault of the MOD itself though.

I too am having trouble with a theme other than the default. Apparently I need to add some code in the index.template.php of my custom theme directory. I found  and added one piece of code, but could not find the other code to add to. The theme I am using is scribbleII. The themes index.template.php file is attached in case someone can help me with this.

Would Appreciate any assistance...

You don't need to add a button for the gallery in Scribbles2, just turn on support for the gallery in your current theme settings.

FYI... not trying to sound mean here, but it always pays to read the details in product releases, in this case it tells you in the release notes by Bloc that it supports the SMF Gallery mod.  ;)
it actually sez, "SMF Gallery Lite 1.7.4"
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=16908.0

EDIT: AFAIK it will support all (or most) versions of the SMF Gallery... mine is running the SMF Gallery Pro and it works just fine.

I cannot seem to find any option via Current Theme: Manage and Install/Themes and Settings/Reset Options/Modify Themes.

Set your forum to the theme you are working on, in this case Scribbles2 and then go:
Admin>Configuration>Current Theme>... and then part way down the page look for "Support for SMF Gallery Lite mod?" and check it.

Please note; don't turn on support for any of the supported mods unless you actually have that mod already installed.

OK, I think this is where the confusion is coming in:
In your original post you said that, "I am using is scribbleII.", but in your screen shot it appears that you are running the original Scribbles.

You can keep that one if you wish to do so but will need to manually add a button for the SMF Gallery as you first asked about and you can read up on that process at this page:
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=9919.0

For the Scribbles2 files that do have all of those mods support built in go to the download page here:
http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?topic=16908.0

There are several differences between the 'old' Scribbles and the newer Scribbles2 so you may want to look at the new version to see if you want to make the change to it. You can take a look on my forum if you wish:
http://www.mykimbrell.com/FamilyForum/index.php?action=forum;theme=16

Sorry for the mixup... hope this helps.

EDIT: There is one other way to add your gallery link; you can use the link box that you see on the Current Theme page where is sez, "homepage,News|about,Custom". In that box try adding the path for your gallery and see if that gives you what you need.
Your entry should look like this after you add the gallery link:
homepage,News|about,Custom|?action=gallery,Gallery,link
That should place a link to your gallery on the top bar of your forum.
