Rick, I agree selecting individual members is not ideal, but I can think of some instances where it would be convenient to have a feature like that...And in lieu of what is available now...it is better than nothing.

Thanks for keeping the idea alive though.

Thanks Mr. Hacks. I know everytime you release another MAJOR MOD it makes it more difficult to do updates and upgrades to our BECKON and CALL.  ;D

You do a good job of keeping things up to date....thanks.

Won't be done for 1.1.x. Waiting for SMF 2.0 since that has it built in already.

Rather disappointing Hacks as I like many others may not convert to 2.0 for quite some time and in its current state the mod is being used somewhat less than it's full potential and the drawbacks noted in these topics.

So are you abandoning us on this mod for 1.1.x Hacks?

No, just not doing that feature. It is way too complex and would takes weeks of research and development to add a mail queue system to SMF 1.1.x. There was a couple of developers doing just that for SMF 2.0.  There is no benefit for me to develop that code since SMF 2.0 is coming out and then that code can not be reused for other projects.

Hi all,

I just bought, downloaded and installed newsletter pro and I guess I was a bit hasty. I Assumed that as in general forums have quite large numbers of members then an automated way to split the mails being sent would be included as standard..... Oh well.... I guess I will use this excellent mod for now and then have to dump it when I switch to 2.0....

A bit, but not a lot disappointed... :)

Since you have released Pro and it says support SMF 2 as well SMF 1.1 and new feature includes

Quote
Scheduling campaigns
Uploading Lists
Adding list via a textarea
Appending an email to a list.
Deleting an email from a list.
Editing messages
Deleting Messages
Signup form to gain subscribers.
Loading messages on newsletter campaign
Loading list on newsletter campaign

So should I guess as it now sends mail in part for even SMF 1.1.x ?

The mail queue is only part of SMF 2.0 which controls the number of emails sent per hour etc. If you are sending amount of members I would ask your host to look into increasing your email limits if not I would look for another host.

I understand as you might be using SMF2 's scheduling . Just bcz of mails, I had to shift to Dedicated box, load issues were other reasons though.
