Not a valid picture file

Hi there,

I am using this mod since last year and everything was running okay.
but since morning my all members are complaining about picture adding option.
I as an admin tried to upload an image file (.gif and .jpeg) but its showing "NOT A VALID Picture file" error.

Here is the Version Information:

Forum version: SMF 1.1.5 (more detailed)
Current SMF version: SMF 1.1.5
PHP version: 4.3.11
MySQL version: 4.1.20-max-log
Server version: Apache
GD version: bundled (2.0.28 compatible)


Please advice what could be the reason and how to fix it.
