extend listing upgrade
« on: July 01, 2008, 11:05:37 am »
Hack,

I noticed one small thing when we use the extend listing upgrade.

I tested this feature by clicking the free upgraded button on this listing:
http://www.huntclubservices.net/index.php?action=classifieds;sa=view;id=19

There were 14 days left so I decided to ad more days before the auction had ended,to see what would happen. When I did, "sure enough", it gave me the extra max days which is set to 7 days.

However, when these upgrade days were given, it did not take into account that there were still days remaining in the countdown.

Thus the upgrade cut my days left to 7 instead of adding to the original 14in the countdown.

I am guessing what needs to be done here is if someone tries to extend the listing using the upgrade button, before the countdown has reached zero. ( which would not only keep the auction honest but would keep them from losing the time they already have before they tried to extend the listing) they need to be warned with a message.

Suggested solution:

They should be given a pop up message  before they are directed to paypal, espeacially if they are buying the upgrade,Denied for the following reason "1st" "cant extend till you time out" before they are directed to paypal, and pay for extra days only to lose the original time left, "2nd" they can't extend the listing if a bid has already been made on that listing(to keep it honest) unless it has timed out or completed, and the admin has reset it.

Thanks in advance
 ;D
