French Translation

I'm a new member and I post here because I need to have some information to realise a french translation.

What are the name of the files that I need to translate
What kind of modification is necessary to add "french file".

You would need to translate Gallery.english.php

And modifications.english.php were gallery language text is added

I have Found this file :
Gallery.french-utf8.php
I test to translate it and it's ok, just some job for me this week-end !!!

But I'm not an expert in PHP and I'have some problem with "é" and "è" perhaps sombody can help me

Another question is about the utility of this file :
Modifications.french-utf8.php

For me in this file you have to list "all your translation", you're not obliged to have it
