SMF Gallery Pro - Image Storage
« on: November 26, 2008, 02:26:48 am »
I only really have one question before I look to purchase the full version of the gallery (only looking for the multiple upload feature really, anything else is a bonus. )

Am I able to direct the gallery to store files on another server or ftp other than the server my SMF database is located at?

My current host, is fast, reliable, and has quick response times, but I get limited to 200mb and I want to be sure that if I upgrade to the paid version, that the users won't run out of space and force me to change hosts or get more space.

I did notice and search around, another other post was regarding external storage at photobucket or something like that. And I did notice that the Paid version has quota's for users, but that won't help, as eventually I would run out of space.

Currently not possible to have remote storage. Unless it is a share that can be accessed from the website.

External hosts such as photobucket would not work since the system needs to create thumnails, add watermarks etc.

Thankyou for your response, I will have a look into moving to another host or expanding my quota before I look to purchase.

Thankyou again.
