SMF Links only appears for administration
« on: December 20, 2008, 07:21:09 pm »
Hi, I'm sure I've missed something really basic but can't figure it out.

Have installed SMF Links 1.72 in default template in SMF 1.1.7. Added categories and assigned permissions to the categories for all groups, (full rights for all groups except guest who can only view). The link button appears when logged on as administrator but not if logged on a user or browsing as a guest.

So what have I missed?

Thanks,
Benz1

You also have to add global permissions.

Admin -> Permission modify each group and assign SMF Links permissions

Thanks, that did the trick (although after I changed the permissions something weird happened and now whenever I try to log on or log off or do anything that requires a post I get a blank page. Don't know if it's connected?)

As you'll have gathered I'm new to SMF. Was the need to change the permissions noted anywhere in documentation or should I have known?

Thanks,
Ben
