domain name change
« on: February 20, 2009, 05:56:36 pm »
Our Motorcycle club recently changed names and domain names as well. Do we have to buy another copy of SMF Gallery Pro, or can we just use the new domain name. Since the domain name change, users cannot leave comments on photos and I assume this has something to do with the domain name being different. Our original domain name was http://www.ridehsta.com. Our new domain name is http://www.ridemsta.com.

Thanks

For each purchase of the Gallery it allows one instance to be running at any time. You are free to transfer the license from one site to another site but both sites can not be running the Gallery at the same time unless a license is purchased for both.  The domain change would not affect comment permissions. Check the permission levels for membergroup and the settings as well.

Same website, just a new name. I still can't figure out the comments issue, permissions are correct. I am also running SMF version 2 RC1 and the Gallery 2 upgrade. You get the option to post a comment, you can type the comment, but when you submit the comment it says "you didn't enter a comment". I'm not real sure what's going on there.

The "you didn't enter a comment" is an issue with the WYSIWYG editor for SMF 2.0 I have that fixed for the next gallery update
