Error
« on: May 28, 2009, 12:17:24 pm »
I use post count based groups, which is causing a problem.... I'm an "Admin", but am also a member of the  "Senior member" group on my forum -  I went to delete a file, and it generates an error "You are not allowed to delete that download in this category."

Obviously Downloads Pro is using the "Senior member" group permissions as they are NOT allowed to delete files, but as I'm an Admin, that group should take priority over the other post count based group... I assume the same thing will happen with "Moderator" or "Global Moderator" groups, but I haven't checked that.

I hope that makes sense?

Regards
Eddy

Post Count Groups are currently checked first then group level

For instance the following case regular members on this forum can be
Newbie
Jr. Member
Member

Which permissions should be checked first before member level permisisons.

I'll try to explain my setup a bit more so we can clarify this.... I have "Regular Groups" and "Post Count Based Groups" as follows:

Regular Groups

Administrator
Global Moderator
Moderator
Subscriber
Banned

Post Count Based Groups

Newbie
Junior Member
Full Member
Senior Member

To use my account as an example, I'm an "Administrator", but I'm also a "Full Member" because of the number of posts I've made.....It appears that Download Pro is checking the Post Count Based Groups and stopping there, when it should continue and check the Regular Groups.

So, yes, it should check Post Count Based Groups first, but then continue to Regular Groups - if no match is found in Regular Groups then use the Post Count Based Group permissions.

I hope thats clear? It's damned difficult to explain, so I hope its easier to understand? :)

regards
Eddy
