Batch Uploads
« on: May 30, 2009, 06:39:10 pm »
I'm trying to batch add pics to a gallery and it will not allow me to access my computer it just points to an ftp folder in the gallery folder. Can someone explain please how this batch upload works?
Thanks,

Edit : also I noticed that although I've installed the pro version it only says Your Version: 2.0.5 Latest Version: 2.0.5 in the settings. Is this right? BRowse Packages says version 1.4.5 Pro waz up with that??

The batch ftp option in the admin panel is used for files that are located in the gallery/ftp folder on your forum.  What you would do is upload all your files via ftp to the gallery/ftp folder then import using Batch FTP you can upload whole folders as well as just images then choose which ones you want to import into which category.

The version is due to SMF's package system not supporting more than one version in the package-info.xml  So at the moment the version numbers are out of sync for SMF 1.1.x and SMF 2.0.x  but that will change with the next release of the Gallery 2.5 which both versions of SMF will use the same version.

Aw ok that explains it, thanks  :D Is there a way to increase the default batch up loads from 5 to 10 for users?

Great, thanks, any ideas as to when 2.5 will be released?

Thanks,
For upload field settings:
Under Admin -> Gallery Configuration -> Settings -> Layout
There is a setting near the bottom called "Number of Bulk Upload Files to Show"
I find that five works best but you can raise it to 10.

In the next couple of weeks a new version of the gallery will be released an early beta can be found at
