i installed the package, but what do i do now? it doesnt show up anywheres.

You are not using the default theme are you?  You will have to manually apply this mod to your other theme if you want it to work.  Check out SMF's site for more information on this;  I have seen a thread with instructions, but don't have the link off hand.
