2.5.1 Comment box missing

A couple of my members have flagged up a problem in that they can't comment on 2 particular member's images as no comment box appears, however it shows up fine on other images. At the minute it's just 2 member's images that have no comment box. I've checked the settings and the option to "Allow the user to toggle if comments can be shown on a picture or not" is unticked. Neither of them have made any changes to their gallery recently. This has just come to light since the latest version was installed.

We've found another member who has 2 galleries and people can comment on images in one but not the other.

I would try to edit those two pictures and see if they got toggle comments enabled on the picture. If your recently changed the setting that might occur.

Other possible option is that category where those images are located do not have the add comment permission.

It's not just a couple of images, it's all of the images in particular galleries of certain members.The members are in different membergroups too.

For example, 1 member has 2 galleries. Images in gallery "x" can be commented on but those in gallery "y" cannot. All of the member galleries have comments allowed (we don't allow members to block comments), however the comment link and the quick comment box do not appear on any images in certain galleries

Think I got this fixed for 2.5.2. There was a possible bug if you had categories that had no comment permission and user gallery id equaled that category id then that would hide the comment box.

Seems to have solved it though we are still checking
