Just Installed Smf and blank screen after login or log out

I am hoping you guys can help I just installed and reinstalled and reinstalled again smf. And each time I log in or out I come to a blank page. I also come to the same blank page when I try to backup my database in the forum maintenance section. I have used several versions of smf and they all do the same thing!!!!!  Again please help, I love the program so far but I would hate to loose all my future data, 'cause I couldn't backup. I am currently using smf 1.1.1 final. And it did it before I installed any mods.

Are you using the GoDaddy hosting plan that comes with domain registration?  I am having the same problem and the GoDaddy support had this to say

"Thank you for contacting Online Support. Unfortunately, the GET/POST commands are not always handled correctly on the "Free with Domain" hosting. If you were to upgrade to a paid hosting account, this issue should resolve itself. "

Kind of sucks that they can't make their server work correctly for all their hosting plans.

yes I do use godaddy free hosting, I always thought that was the problem. When I use the paid hosting, it works fine.
