i will try that...

also this is probably a dumb question:  to update to the new version, do I just uninstall the current mod and then install the new mod?  will it retain all the feeds?

thanks again

Either uninstall or just install the new version over it. All data is saved on uninstall.

thanks I successfully installed new version, it was still no go but then I had a breakthrough:

the boards have been changed over time, yet when I go to edit a theme and click the dropdown menu next to "Forum" to select where the feed will show, it shows a bunch of boards that no longer exist.

When I selected one of the few boards that did still exist, it worked.

However most of the new boards don't show up in the Feed Poster dropdown list.

Is there any way to sync the boards in the dropdown list with the actual boards that on the site?

The board names are not stored by the rss feed poster mod. So the dropdown select for the boards to post the feed in should always be up to date since it is a straight query from the boards table.

Just realized tonight why it won't work. When I first added it I thought the createpost option would make it marked as read for all but it turns it is only for the topic creator so in this case the user who the feed is being under.
So more than likely will remove that option.

OK, Thanks.

Do you know where I could modify the SQL code for the unread topics page so I could exclude a forum or board (ie where the RSSS Feed Posts posts are going)

Hi. I have one problem. I don't know how to set up mod to not load older messages, just new ones. If it keeps like this, it will post all rss feeds for few years back.

Can you help? Thanks.

The mod will keep going back through older feed topics until I reaches the end. I just deleted them all as they cane thru & finally made it to the end (WHEW!!!).

Think its the only way.

hi. i cant seem to get this thing to work, since it never posts anything, but im not sure if i set it correctly or what link do i have to look for in sites like gizmodo . can someone pls explain?

I have no errors  visible and I've set it to post on a specific board, but nothing seems to happen, is there something wrong with how I set this up?

I am using RSS Feed Poster, on some feeds there is no problem, however i use Feed Editor to create a News Feed for the site, and then use RSS Feed Poster to add each new item to a News Forum on the site.

I use HTML tags in Feed Editor to format the news item, and format each item with some minor HTML.  RSS Feed Poster imports just fine, but displays the tags rather than formatting the copy.  Is there a setting or something that I can use to make RFP display the fomatted copy rather than the tags?

I use RSS2HTML script to create a summary that Simple Portal puts at the top of the home page and it displays the formatted html from the same source RSS feed.

You can click here http://exreps.com/Forums/index.php?topic=495.0 to see what I am talking about

Is there any hope that Feed Poster is going to be upgraded, or should I simply look for a different solution?

I would not have a problem in paying a modest fee for a pro version that would post the formatted RSS Items
