Error messages
« on: November 28, 2009, 05:25:31 pm »
it would be nice to be able to edit some of the error messages - Especially with SMF 2.0 RC2's new subscription system....

For example, Instead of just saying "That would exceed your 5 downloads per day" (or whatever the exact message is?), I'd like to modify it so that I can add "Subscribing, by clicking on 'subscriptions' will allow you to download more files per day", or something like that....

So would it be possible to allow editing of the various error messages within the Admin section? I'm sure it would be a great addition!

Regards
Eddy

I would also like to see this implemented in a future release.

You could edit the text in your Downloads.english.php to contain something more to your liking.  Of course that isn't the optimal way, but it is something for the meantime.

Look for this line:

Quote
$txt['downloads_txt_day_limit'] = 'You have exceeded your maximum downloads per day of ';

Maybe I think SMF 2.0 has a language editor built in haven't used it yet though and not sure if it allows editing of modification language files.
