Deselecting fullsize image in posted topic problem

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature request so I'll post here 

-  I create a category
- select a Board Name in the posting options
- de-select the "Fullsize image in posted topic" (I do this because the images uploaded are very large)

Now whats happening is the thumbnail image is included in the post but has been scaled to the dimensions of the large original making it look very distorted.

What I'd really like is for the medium sized image to be included in the post.

Is there a way to do this? Is this a bug? Feature request?

That part may be a bug.

The medium image in the created topic would be a good feature request.
