Newsletter Pro Update not appearing in Main Admin panel
« on: January 25, 2010, 03:39:50 pm »
I followed the instructions and uninstalled the old version of Newsletter Pro and seemed to install version 2.0.5 successfully. No errors or anything else happened but Newsletter Pro does not appear in the left hand Main Admin Panel as it did previously, so I have no way of accessing it.

In the Browse Packages list Newsletter Pro 2.0.5 is there as the Current Version.

So where do I now access Newsletter Pro?

Is their an empty space underneath News and Newsletters in the admin area?

If not I would try uninstalling the mod then reinstalling again.

From the looks of it. It appears that none of it installed or only a small part did.
I would proceed with the uninstall then reinstall it again.

Same problem I started with.

The install said it was successful and no errors, it applied OK but it is not appearing in Admin though the Package Manager and Installed Packages shows the Newsletter Pro 2.0.5 Mod is there and installed.

Ok good then it means that it is installed if you can see the newsletter tabs. Then it is just missing the text link in the admin panel.

Check under Admin -> Server Settings that your language is set to just "English" and not english utf8

Just English.

Sorry I made a mistake on that URL. It just takes me to my Forum Home Page not to the Newspro settings page, which I suppose it's supposed to.

It sounds like the permissions are not correct on the files it is trying to modify. Check the forum's error log for any errors.

And if possible reset permissions on the files and folders then uninstall and reinstall.

OK changing permissions is getting outside my small realm of expertise.

Apart from a continuous unknown index colour error coming up this is what I could find that applies to NewsLetter Pro:

I have a FTP client with access to the forum site if that helps. I use the FTP client to create entire backups to my home computer (except for the database) and to change the banner graphic and some icons.

That's about as far as my expertise goes.

Under the Package Manager There should be an Options tab
And inside that options tab there should be a form to fill out to reset permissions on the SMF files.

Sorry had to go away for a bit.

What option do you want me to select?

Only the standard files are writable.
All files are writable.
The minimum files are writable.
