Server Times out 504 ...

I have just tried the Newsletter Pro Mod for the first time now and am getting 504 errors unless I drip the recipient list to maybe 50 eMails. My dedicated server has 16GB ram and is protected by an Anti-DDos proxy.

What I am missing the feature that the maile will put a delay between the sending ... saying 2.5% sent ... 5% sent ... 7% sent ... etc. - like in the deault newsletter mailing built in SMF 1.1.X

Does the Pro Newsletter no longer support this or am I making something wrong?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as cutting down 20.000 recipients into 50 Address heaps is no option

504 errors are from apache? Do you have mod_security installed? Is it exactly 50 emails?

And you are using SMF 1.1.x right?

thanks from your reply. I am on a Unix server so I believe there is Apache installed.

Yes, I am using 1.1.19

Is Mod_Security a mod? I'm not sure about this.

I can not say eactly if it is 50 message or maybe 70 ... but for sure unfortunately too little as to make it possible to send out the newsletter to all of my mebers.

Isn't ist possible to have the script process the sending like by the default sending method where it will pause and then resend another portion?

I have a background processing option if you create a list you can schedule a campaign using a cron job.

I am thinking it might be caused by the data size or that your anti ddos script sees so many email addresses being posted thinks it is an attack.

So if I use the background processing option via cronjob, e.g. calling the script every 2 Minutes would this mean it is sending X message for every 2 Minutes until the list has been processed? Where can I define how many message are sent per call? Thank you

The cron job runs in the background on the server and sends all the emails at one time that are setup as a campaign.

The 2 minute cron job check is see if there are any campaigns are running if so then it will send them. It does not relate to sending speed.
