Yes they would be lost since convertor will clear out the existing SMF Gallery Lite/pro install.

Wow.... i have 100 important pics that are being hot linked to forum tech posts.

http://www.chevyavalancheclub.com/index.php?action=gallery;cat=13

I guess i can take time and go thru my tutorial and edit the links once reloaded to the gallery.

One question before i go,...   can i do the upgrade and then remove AEVA after im done? or do i remove it before the conversion?

You can remove AVEA after the conversion so you can be sure it works.

Do new imports show once done all will they appear in the gallery as they go?

I would keep the gallery from viewing from the public just in case. Some extra entries are added to unviewed items which cause an issue.

What does it say in the url after?

If it gets stuck in the same url you can try adding ;skip to the url

If you are still having a problem would be possible to send me an ftp account to do a testing. I can try to speed it up too.

At first i thought it was my laptop being wireless.  I went ahead and connected to the hardline and tried 3 more times.

It goes to a blank page with no warnings on FF.  On IE, a wraning message says that im not connected.

I hit the back button, it restarts all over again.  If i refresh the page, it restarts again.

I cant do the skip.

PM comming your way....
