Showing that there are new images?

using Simple Forums, and gallery lite - is there a way to show that the gallery has new images in it? Does it require the pro version?

In the Pro edition there is an unread tab that lists which photos you have not viewed.

Unfortunatly I don't see the unread tab - but - what I am really looking for is the "Gallery" tab to show some indication that there are unviewed images.

Other gallery software (phpbb) has this - and its real helpful when a person logs in and can immediatly see that there are new images

The tab itself? Don't currently have that built in. Would be a little tricky since on every page load it would need to get a count of the total unviewed images for the user.

Then for SMF 1.1.x for custom themes would also have that coded to show the number.

The unviewd tab is only if you have an account.
