Just purchased Questions
« on: April 09, 2010, 10:09:53 pm »
I just purchased this mod but have a few questions:
1. It doesn't ask me to enter my reg code. Do I need to?
2. When I setup a category I can add a listing cost. Is this what will be paypaled to me regardless if this item sells? I set it up for $.50 but wouldn't paypal take all of that for their fees? Can I setup a percentage of the total sale?
3. Is there a way the user can setup defaults such as hardcoding their paypal email into their profile so they don't have to add it again?
4. If the listing cost is figured out right away does that mean money will go straight to my paypal account from the person starting the listing or does it wait until the auction has ended?
5. What do my credits mean?

That's it for now but I am sure I will have more.
Thanks for your help.

1. License key is used to access the customer forums. Which can be entered at
http://www.smfhacks.com/index.php?action=license
2. Yes that is the amount is cost to create a listing/auction in a category and will be paid to you before the actual listing is created.  PayPal may take a good chunk of that. There currently is no way to set a percentage of sale. What that would involve would be splitting the final payment of the sale into multiple paypal accounts which currently isn't supported by paypal.
3. Not at this time.
4. The money goes direct to your paypal when they order a listing/auction.

Thanks for the quick response. What does credits mean?

Credits is when they purchase a listing/auction so they purchase a credit listing for a certain category. After payment is cleared credits are awarded to the user to create a list/auction in that category.

I just set up a dummy account to setup an auction listing and after I hit add listing or add auction I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function GetPriceFromGroup() in /home/content/b/u/m/bumchex/html/Sources/Load.php(1746) : eval()'d code on line 4627

What does that mean?

Fixed that issue was a bug with the last update.

Also any way to limit the length of time for an auction or fixed price? I have it set for user to select but I would like to limit it to 30 days but let them decide if they want a 1,3,7,10,14 days or whatever but not to exceed 30 days.

Fixed version that was something I just updated on my side.

For the second one there is a category level setting called
"Allow members to control how their listing is listed"
Which gives the option when they create a listing/auction for how many days it will run but it does avoid listing expires setting.

I more question and I will leave you alone for awhile :)
Is there a way to buy credits ahead of time before listing an item? This way I can lower my fee's and have people buy 10 credits at a time for $5.

Also when I try to leave feedback it states you must select a classified listing. I am on the listing and adding feedback. Where can I find the classified listing?

I like the buy bulk credits idea I think that would be a good way work around the paypal transaction fees if you need it I can work on adding it this week.

For second question reposted from smf.org

There is an option enabled inside the Classifieds mod called "Trader system feedback only after winning a listing or auction"

If that is checked  you can only leave feedback if the listing/auction is completed and you won the listing/auction.

If it isn't checked anyone can leave feedback at any time.
The reason you get that error is since there is no completed auction/listing there is listings listed in the dropdown menu to select to leave feedback on.

The bid credits would be great!
I am a bit confused by your last sentence. I did a mock auction as a test with 2 user accounts. After the BIN listing the only option to leave feedback is to the seller. It states leave feedback for 'username'. The username is only the seller. Once you click on that you can state if it was a sale, buy, or trade.
I click on that using the buyer login and state that I am the buyer leaving feedback and that's when I get the error. I am not sure what the thread URL references, either, in the options.
It's a bit confusing.
Thanks.

Did the seller accept the bid/mark it as completed. There is also a setting to auto accept bids for auctions.

Again, I am confused by this. What do you mean by seller accepting the bid? I have auto accept bid checked. Why would the seller need to accept the bid? That doesn't make sense to me. Do you have a good FAQ? I read you instructions but it doesn't explain everything. I have looked for instructions on the trader mod but I came up with nothing. Can you point me in the right direction?
