detailed instructions
« on: May 17, 2010, 01:53:31 am »
Hi
do you have any detailed instructions ?

For the life of me I cannot get even a simple text advert to display.
i must be doing something 'muppet -ish'

Could there be a conflict with Simple Portal?
8: Undefined index: adseller_type
File: ......./forum/Themes/default/PortalShoutbox.template.php (buyer_edit_ad sub template - eval?)
Line: 3927

Funnily enough, I got an advert to work fine using basic AdSeller (before buying pro). - image attached.
I bought Pro because I wanted more than 1 advert to appear (in a tower) on the right hand side.

I am trying to place an advert on the right hand side.
Simple Portal right hand blocks are disabled.
The shoutbox referred to in the error message is actually on the left hand side.

cheers
billy

I have a quick setup guide found at
http://www.smfhacks.com/index.php/topic,4270.0.html

Check out step three basically says that locations need to be enabled and membergroups need to be given permission to view it.

Cheers - have read those over and over in the first instance.

Any comments regarding the error log or Simple Portal conflict?

How about basic working fine but not Pro?

Thanks
Billy

The error looks like it occurs just on one page where users would edit an ad that they purchased.

The two mods are different on how they function. I would need more information to figure out what is going on.

OK,
what information would you require?

It is doing my head in.

Paypal account is a premier one
PP account has IPN enabled and pointing to adselleripn2.php
PP has account email entered in the settings  (but this is a different email address to the one used to buy ASPro.)

I have created some ads and packages but no ads show and I cant buy either

Attached some screen shots to help explain.

Cheers

Hmm I would try taking of the starting and ending dates. I saw one picture where it has 00:00 for the start times.

The ad you have setup will appear only inside those specific boards that checked.

Because I inadvertently entered the start and finish dates when creating an Ad Package, the commencement time was added by your script.
So when I entered 18/05/2010 as start date, and 17/05/2011 as the end date, the start time was correct to show 00.00hrs 18/05/2010.

Next project - how do I get a couple of adverts to stack down the right hand side - one beneath the other?

Cheers

If you are using custom code you can create an html table to stack one after another. If not you would have to create a new location then copy that code in the index.template.php file.

What ad type are you using? Text Ad, Banner Ad, Custom Code?

I was just going to use text but I suppose one day there will be a requirement for a banner and code.

Two ways to do it either create a custom ad code block and stack them using an html table.
Or second option would be to create new ad locations. Then add them to the index.template.php under the orginal right ad location.
