Recently modified albums/categories

Is there any possibility to display a block/list on the gallery front page with the recently modified albums/categories ?

I can get the recently modified/commented/uploaded/etc... pictures but not the album (users request)

What code are you currently using to get the latest pictures/comments?

I use the basic functions from gallery admin, I set the blocks to display most commented pictures, most viewed, etc. I did not find any way to display last modified categories, that was the question

What do you want it to show by last modified categories that would be different that the latest pictures index block?

The idea is to display those categories which received new pictures recently, and not only new pictures one by one as we have a huge number of new pics every day. So visitors can see which member has updated his private album and not only which picture is new.
