Code for a banner .gif file
« on: June 28, 2010, 10:13:40 am »
The following code does not seem to work
It is for a banner ad (.gif) as an overall footer

Can anyone help, as I am new at this

// Begin Ad Seller Pro Location - Overall Footer

global $sourcedir;
include_once $sourcedir . "/banner/bannergif.gif";

$adSellerAdData =  ShowAdLocation(2);

// Check if any ads where found
if ($adSellerAdData != false)
{
   // Dispaly the advertising code
   echo $adSellerAdData;
}

// End Ad Seller Pro Location - Overall Footer

For Ad Seller Pro you do not modify the php code of SMF.

Instead you would add banners/text links or custom html code. Though the manage ads page in Ad Seller Pro.

Here is a link to a quick start guide for Ad Seller Pro

Thanks for the quick reply, but I am lost
I have a GIF file that I want to use as a banner ad.  The GIF displays fine when I click on it.
I have no idea how to make it appear as an AD
Could you provide more details
Thanks

What you would do is go to.
Admin -> Ad Seller Pro -> Manage Ads

Then click on the Add Ad link.

Next, for the ad type choose banner
And then an upload box will appear for you to select your banner.

Just fill out the rest of your settings for your ad and you should be set.
