Classified Ads with older SMF version

I had the Classified ads on my website.  Didn't get any use.  I removed it completely.  The license expired.  I let it go.  I changed my domain name.
I just purchased the ads again... I used the new domain name.  Installed... tried to direct link to the classifieds.  Page not found.  Uninstalled program... TONS of errors.  Didn't get a single one during "apply", but I got the "congrats classifieds were successfuly installed" message.

So, I have a million uninstall errors... in fact, ALL extraction erros except for the ....who.ennglish.php file, but no classified ads.

I'm using smf v 2.0 RC1.2 and I'm not planning on upgrading any time soon.  I had the old version, but deleted it from my computer after I dumped it from my site the first time.

Now what?

Ok lets start at the beginning again and try to reinstall the classifieds program and lets see how that goes.

If you have issues
On install you were able to install the classifieds system with no failed tests in the package manager?

For not found page what url did you go to and was it a 404 error on just back to the smf index page?

I totally uninstalled the package.  Reinstalled.  No errors.  Typed in the browser address line:

http://www.classicwinnebagos.com/index.php?action=classifieds

I get the 404 error.

Looks like the url should be
http://www.classicwinnebagos.com/forum/index.php?action=classifieds

But just returns to the index.

Since it is an older version of SMF RC 1.2 will require a couple manual file edits


Attach your index.php from the root directory of your forum
Along with your Sources/Subs.php and Sources/Admin.php and Sources/ManagePermissions files
And themes/default/languages/modifications.english.php

Perfect!  Thank you so  much for your very quick response!  Everything appears to be good, at this point, except that the permissions options are not appearing in the admin, membergroups, permsissions edit screens.

Here's the error I'm getting... loads of them.

I did not see that you edited the post. Did you clear your cache under smf -> admin maintenance after you uploaded the updated moficiations.english.php
If so then attach your ManagePermissions.php and themes/default/modifications.english.php

Yes, I cleared the cache as directed.  Files attached.

The files look correct.

Check under Admin -> Languages -> Settings
That just english is selected as the default forum language and not english utf8.

If you are using a custom theme for your forum. You may need to copy your modification.english.php to your themes/themenamehere/languages folder

Checked settings.  English ISO-8859-1 is what's been used from square one.  The theme is the Default-core theme.

I went into the store and accessed the admin permissions from there, selected the "Member" membergroup to edit and I instantly got 751 erros compised of these 3 messages:

For some reason its not being loaded the permission text is not loaded.

Check your languages folder and see if you have a modifications.english-utf8.php file.

Don't know what else it would be then so  added them to this file. Don't like doing that but not sure what else would cause that.
